Nic East was born in Ridley Park, PA in 1936. His undergraduate work was at the University of Pennsylvania in Physics and Astronomy. Also, he took Industrial and Graphic Design at the Philadelphia College of Art. He was one of the founders of the University City Arts League in Philadelphia's University City. He has been listed in Who's Who in American Art since 1972

Nic East lives with his wife Eileen at their bed and breakfast, Hill Home Forge, in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania where he has his studios and is deeply involved in the local art community.
